Three Special Topics Coaching Seminars announced for June 2014

TUKWILA, Wash. (June 13, 2014) – The Washington Youth Soccer Coaching Department has announced three sessions for the Special Topics Coaching Seminars geared toward helping all levels of coaching within Washington Youth Soccer. The topics for the next three sessions are "Sports & Positive Development & Parent-Athlete Relationship," "Are We Developing a Style of Play in US - Where Should We Begin?", and "Maximizing Young Soccer Players' Performance - A Comprehensive Approach."

The Special Topics Seminars are free and open to anybody who would like to attend, however space is limited so register now.

Angela Hucles is a two-time Olympic Gold Medalist and former professional soccer player. Hucles is currently the Founder and CEO of the Empowerment Through Sport Leadership Series. With a passion for helping others to become inspired and motivated in achieving their dreams in life and over 25 years experience in the sports industry, she founded the Empowerment Through Sport Leadership Series in 2012. While Hucles' primary focus is on ways to empower children and women, she has become a regular speaker on topics of equality, anti-bullying, and the power of sport and its impact on personal growth and development. Hucles is currently the Los Angeles Regional Director for Up2Us, a non-profit organization that believes sports are the solution to solving the critical issues that face America’s youth today.

Jay Hoffman is the former Head Coach of the Boston Breakers of the WUSA and former Assistant Coach of the U17 and U20 Men's National teams. Hoffman currently coaches the US Paralympic team. Hoffman is also currently the Director of Academy Coaching for the Virginia Rush and a National Staff Instructor for U.S. Soccer.

Chad Kolarcik is the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach of the Seattle Sounders FC. Kolarcik has spent the past six years training athletes at the high school, collegiate and professional levels across a variety of sports, including soccer, hockey, baseball, football, rugby and lacrosse. Before joining Sounders FC, he worked as a Performance Coach at Athletes’ Performance in Los Angeles where he trained elite athletes and assisted with the LA Galaxy strength and conditioning programs. Kolarcik is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Exercise Science and holds a U.S. Soccer “D” Coaching License.
