Tukwila, Wash. (February 22, 2018) – Washington Youth Soccer, the largest youth sports organization in Washington State, is excited to announce that Maple Valley Youth Soccer Association and its Board of Directors have decided to return all competitive programming to WA Youth Soccer in the Fall of 2018. These competitive boys and girls teams will fall under the WA Youth Soccer umbrella, just as the recreation group has for years.
“One of our core objectives is to reach out to soccer groups and end the fragmentation that exists in the sport and aggregate players into vertical playing structures that best serve families and the players,” commented Dan Popp, WA Youth Soccer President. “We are excited that the leadership of Maple Valley shares that principle with WA Youth Soccer. We are working diligently to improve the experience for our families. Welcome back and we look forward to growing great programs together.”
Maple Valley Youth Soccer Association President Sean Mallery stated, "As Maple Valley and the surrounding area continues to grow, it is important to our Association that we always give kids a place to play soccer that works for every skill level, player and their family. With that said, we will have the opportunity to provide appropriate leagues for our recreation players as well as a chance for some of our premier teams to earn acceptance into the RCL.”
With 100,000 players registered annually, WA Youth Soccer is a nonprofit organization bringing soccer opportunities at all levels of the game to kids ages 5-19 across the state. WA Youth Soccer is comprised of 29 Member Associations and over 200 clubs that facilitate recreational, select and regional programs, as well as TOPSoccer (soccer programming for players with disabilities), four annual State Cup Tournaments, state level leagues, an Elite Player Development program, and several soccer outreach programs.
