January 10, 2017 08:59 PM

After serving various roles for WA Youth Soccer over the last five years, including as Technical Director for the past 18 months, Kim Calkins has resigned from the position.

“It has been a privilege to work with the many members of Washington Youth Soccer over the past five years,” said Calkins. “From the energetic, competitive, and fun young players to the coaches who go above and beyond – the coaches who truly care about and teach their players to love the game and become their best selves – our game brings out the best of our communities. It’s our supportive parents, passionate coaching educators, soccer enthusiast referees, hard-working Directors of Coaching, tireless administrators and team managers, and volunteer Boards of Directors across the state that work together to provide the best youth soccer experience.”

“Kim Calkins has been an inspiration during her tenure at Washington Youth Soccer,” said Washington Youth Soccer CEO Terry Fisher. “Kim is talented, personable, a respected coach and the consummate technical leader for youth soccer across Washington. She is a tireless worker, and has not only demonstrated incredible energy, but established a new standard of excellence. Kim has been an accomplished player at every level and now has positioned herself as a top-flight American coach. My view is that her possibilities are limitless. We are proud and thankful for her contribution to Washington Youth Soccer. Kim will always be a valued member of our soccer history. We are excited for her next phase in her career. Go with our best wishes and sincere thanks.”
