The 2015 Washington Youth Soccer State Championships and Presidents Cup competitions for the U-15 through U-18 Boys came to a conclusion last weekend. The semifinal and championship rounds were played at Starfire Sports in Tukwila, with champions earning a spot in their respective regional competition.

Washington Youth Soccer State Champions were determined in the Under-15 through Under-18 Boys age groups. Teams were competing for not only the state title, but advancement to the US Youth Soccer Region IV (Far West) Championships to be held at Simplot Soccer Complex in Boise, Idaho, June 22-28. The U-12 through U-14 Boys and Girls and the U-15 through U-18 Girls State Championships will conclude in May.
The Washington Youth Soccer State Championships is part of the US Youth Soccer National Championship Series, the oldest and most prestigious youth soccer national championship competition in the country. State Champions from the 14 western US Youth Soccer State Associations, as well as qualifiers from the US Youth Soccer Far West Regional League will compete for the regional title and the opportunity to advance to the US Youth Soccer National Championships July 20-26 in Tulsa, Okla.

2015 Washington Youth Soccer State Champions
Washington Youth Soccer State Champions have had recent success at the regional and national level. In 2010, Crossfire Premier 95 Black won the Under-14 Boys Region IV Championships, and advanced to the National title game where they fell 2-1 to the Illinois champion. Eastside FC 94 Red won the Under-16 Boys Regional title in 2011 and finished in a four-way tie to advance to the championship game at Nationals, but missed out on tiebreakers. In 2013, Washington finally broke through to claim its first National Championship in almost 20 years when Eastside FC 98 Red won the Under-14 Girls after advancing from the regional competition. And last year, WPFC 01 Black advanced to the regional final, where they fell to Cal-South in a penalty shootout. Washington teams have won five national titles, the first of which came in 1983.

Teams in the Under-15 through Under-17 age groups were competing for not only the state Presidents Cup title, but advancement to the US Youth Soccer Region IV Presidents Cup. The U-11 through U-14 Boys and Girls and the U-15 through U-18 Girls Presidents Cup will conclude in May.

2015 Washington Youth Soccer Presidents Cup Champions

The Washington Youth Soccer Presidents Cup is part of the US Youth Soccer Presidents Cup, a competition for those teams seeking additional challenges to play against teams of similar abilities for a national title. The Cup provides a progressive, competitive experience to teams that might not otherwise get the opportunity to participate in a series of unique experiences highlighting competition, camaraderie and community from the state to regional to national levels of US Youth Soccer.
Winners of the Under-13 through Under-17 Boys and Girls Presidents Cup will advance to the Region IV Presidents Cup in Snohomish, June 9-14. The four regional Presidents Cup champions will move on to play for the Presidents Cup national title in Overland Park, Kansas, July 9-12.
In 2013, Under-17 Girls Eastside FC White became the fifth Washington team to win a regional Presidents Cup crown, but came up just short in the Presidents Cup national title game. Last year, Under-15 Boys Tacoma United Chelsea claimed the state’s first national Presidents Cup trophy in the six years of the competition.
